About Mold Removal in Jim Thorpe, PA
Mold is a living and growing organism, which means that unaddressed conditions can grow worse over time. In order to successfully remove the mold, the moisture source must be found and corrected. When you contact Pro Remediation Services, we perform a thorough inspection of the property in order to provide you with a detailed report. If necessary, we also provide you with a plan for mold removal to suit your needs.
Jim Thorpe’s mountain location and the Lehigh River valley create a humid microclimate that makes mold growth a common concern for homeowners. Older Victorian-era homes and properties with crawl spaces or stone foundations are particularly susceptible to moisture intrusion and mold growth.

About Jim Thorpe, PA
Jim Thorpe is the county seat of Carbon County and one of Pennsylvania’s most celebrated small towns. Originally founded in 1818 as Mauch Chunk, a Lenape word meaning “Bear Place”, the borough was renamed in 1954 to honor Olympic gold medalist and Native American athlete Jim Thorpe. Often called the “Switzerland of America” for its stunning mountain scenery, Jim Thorpe attracts visitors from across the region for hiking, white water rafting, mountain biking, and fall foliage tours. The town’s beautifully preserved Victorian architecture, including the Asa Packer Mansion and the Old Jail Museum, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway and Lehigh Gorge State Park are popular year-round destinations.
Airborne and surface mold spores can cause allergic and respiratory issues. Some people are more susceptible to mold exposure than others due to underlying medical conditions.
It depends, of course, upon the size of the job and the areas affected. A smaller job of a few square feet can generally be handled without professional assistance (as noted in the US EPA Guide to Mold), so the only expense involved there is the cleaning supplies and PPE (such as rubber gloves and masks). Once you go beyond the smaller jobs, there is a wide range of possible costs based upon work required. If porous components like drywall are contaminated with active growth, then removal and disposal are required. However, situations that involve cleaning generally involve lower costs than ones that require removal of walls, carpeting, etc.
